This project involved designing a celebratory banner for a traditional Chilanga Mulilo event. The purpose of the design was to honor cultural heritage while presenting a vibrant and modern visual that highlights Zambian food and tradition.

Design Features

• Cultural Theme: Traditional African patterns incorporated into the border to reflect heritage.

• Typography: Bold black-and-white lettering with shadow effect for clarity and strong visual presence.

• Food Imagery: Authentic Zambian dishes (nshima, chicken, fish, vegetables, and traditional sides) placed prominently to showcase the event’s focus on food.

• Illustration: A cultural silhouette of an African woman carrying a pot, paired with a drum, to symbolize tradition and celebration.

• Color Palette: Warm yellow background with green, red, and black accents inspired by African textile patterns.

Conclusion

This project demonstrates my ability to blend cultural authenticity with modern design techniques, delivering vibrant, professional, and print-ready visuals that capture the spirit of the occasion.
