The Hot Stone Pub and Grill – UV Lightbox Design By Alinani Katende – Also Known As Metro Wise King
This project involved creating the visual artwork for a roadside UV lightbox sign for The Hot Stone Pub and Grill. The primary goal was to design an energetic, eye-catching lightbox that clearly advertises the establishment's offerings, maintains high visibility both day and night, and communicates a festive, engaging atmosphere.
The final design was prepared in Adobe Photoshop, specifically engineered for printing onto translucent vinyl for backlighting (UV Lightbox application).

Design Features & Night-Time Optimization:
Dynamic Background: The design uses a cosmic, starry nebula background to create immediate visual intrigue and depth, which is beautifully enhanced when backlit at night.
Themed Branding: The logo "the hot stone GRIL L" is prominent, with the 'O's stylized as flames, visually linking the brand to both grilling and a lively, warm atmosphere.
Aesthetic Balance: The layout balances the left side's "Party/Music" theme (featuring speakers, fireworks, and a disco ball) with the right side's "Refreshment" theme (featuring tall, glowing glasses of beer), clearly defining the Pub and Grill concept.
Targeted Call-Outs: Essential services are highlighted with the tagline: "live music • cocktails", followed by a prominent, easy-to-read contact number in red.
Light-Optimized Colors: The use of white text over a dark background ensures that the lettering remains crisp and bright when the UV lightbox is illuminated, maximizing readability from the road.
Conclusion:
This lightbox design successfully captures the dual-nature of the venue—a lively pub and a quality grill—through bold imagery and thoughtful composition. It demonstrates my ability to design high-impact graphics specifically tailored for specialized printing mediums like UV translucent vinyl, ensuring maximum brand visibility around the clock.
